I am thrilled to be in my eighth year as a school counselor at OHS.  I love working with high school students and I consider this my dream job.  I was born and raised in Ames, IA and graduated from Ames High School in 1987.  I received my BA in social work from the University of Northern Iowa in 1991.  From there, I attended graduate school at the University of Iowa where I obtained a master's degree in social work in 1993.  Most recently, I completed a master's degree in school guidance and counseling from Buena Vista University.

Prior to arriving at OHS, I had the privilege of serving as a school social worker with Lakeland Area Education Agency and Prairie Lakes Area Education Agency.  I gained valuable experience serving every school in Clay and Dickinson county at one point or another in this role. 

In my free time I enjoy being outside, following the ISU Cyclones and UNI Panthers, cross country skiing, watching my nephews wrestle, and spending time with family and friends.
